Experimental Stress Analysis Using Strain Gages
Visualize dynamic loads and resultant stresses
Design or verification of FEA models.
•32 channels of strain gage input (which can be multiplexed to 256 channels)
•Full dynamic measurement capability from DC to 4 KHz
•Trigger data acquisition on level, events, time, or external trigger (or a combination of triggers)
•Report engineering data in the form of; strain, shear strain, angle of principal axis, maximum principal stress, shear stress, von Mises equivalent, Tresca equivalent, Haigh equivalent, St. Venant equivalent, Rankine equivalent, or percent of yield stress
•Analysis and display of both analog strain gage signal and the FFT of the dynamic signal showing magnitude and frequency content
•Applicable to a broad array of materials including elastomers
•High temperature applications
•Radio telemetry system for wireless applications
•Gage encapsulation for environmental protection

The system being used has and accuracy of ±0.05% of full scale. Each sensor card employs a 24-bit analog to digital converter enabling 0.5 microstrain resolution. Scan rates up to 2048 samples per second are available for simultaneous reading of all sensor inputs. Equipment available for higher speed application to 50 KHz @ - 3dB down.
